Weather status & forecast updates
2013/07/04
We are GO for VIPE 2013!
We may be having a strangely unpredictable summer in Québec this year but despite the weird weather, it looks like everything is holding in line for the weekend of July 6 and 7. The forecasts seem to mostly say two things: Rain over the weekend is unlikely (10% on Saturday and Sunday daytime, possibly in the form of thunderstorms late in the day) and winds should not be a problem at all (10-20km/h all weekend with a possible drop to 5km/h on Sunday). Overcast should be around all weekend, and could possibly affect the ceiling by parts.
Many of our weather sources seem to align to say we're going to get risks of thunderstorms on the night of Saturday to Sunday. Some forecasts have mentioned rain for the entire day, while hourly forecasts available clearly show the rain is an overnight risk, leaving all day time clear of precipitation. The forecasts do appear to all hand out a clear Saturday with some chance of cloud and the same for Sunday. To be safe, bring some rain shelter; we will have to keep an eye out for a passing thunderstorm, which will be a risk all weekend.
The final status is GO for VIPE 2013.
